NEXT UP STUDENT COMPETITION
In collaboration with Philly Fashion Week and FabScrap. Selected and used mendables and deadstock fabric from FabScrap to create a garment using zero-waste design methods.
Location
Fashion District. Philadelphia, PA
Pleated dress with detachable cape (at the shoulders with a black separating zipper on either side), kusudama origami lace-up corset, and large origami tote bag to carry the garment with the leftover fabric.
The STATS:
~4.4 pounds of mendables/fabric (white jersey tank top, white wrap skirt, 1X gingham cardigan; black, silver, and white fabric)
103 strips of fabric edged stitched and then pleated/folded
37 piece origami corset
3 separating zippers
